From engineer to educator, my journey has been one of seeking purpose and impact. After dedicating 20,000 hours to the traditional education system, both as a student and later as an assistant professor, I felt a growing disconnect. I yearned to understand children and education on a deeper level, but the conventional schooling model left me wanting. Unlike many, I chose to pursue my passion – chess – as a career, not a hobby.

Driven by a passion for chess since childhood, and a desire to create meaningful change,  I founded chess academy in 2011. This pursuit led me to become a FIDE Arbiter and Fair Play Expert (FPE) Candidate, an experience that profoundly shaped my understanding of the game. Working alongside experienced chess professionals solidified my belief that chess is far more than just a game. The countless hours I spent in this role provided invaluable insights into the strategies, training methods, and mindset of elite players, significantly deepening my own chess knowledge.

My vision extends beyond simply teaching the rules of chess and preparing students for tournaments. I aim to nurture diverse skills and talents in children, helping them discover their swadharma – their unique purpose and calling. Slowly, I incorporate life skill sessions along with advanced chess strategies.

With over 17 years of experience teaching chess, I find immense joy in working with my students and witnessing their growth, not just as chess players, but as individuals discovering their unique skills and potential.

I believe chess is a powerful tool for self-improvement, teaching us to compete not against others, but against ourselves, ultimately uplifting our lives and guiding us towards our true path. This understanding of chess became the catalyst for recognizing my own swadharma and embracing a path that integrates education, sustainability, and life skills, including homeschooling my own child. This conscious shift not only transformed our lifestyle but instilled a profound sense of stewardship towards Mother Nature within us.
